We are stopping over briefly for a day and a half in Dubai as we have some friends who live there. Although we have traveled through a few times, we have never stopped there. Because it is summer and the temperature is likely to be in the 40s, we will be doing any sightseeing inside. Another piper recently warned Maggie not to let her pipes dry out over there. Those precious babies won't be going anywhere near the heat, that is for sure.
Scotland Itinerary

We land on 23 August, pick up a car and stay in Glasgow for the night. We are going to listen to and support Callum Cairn and Piers Dover in the Bronze Medal being played at the National Piping Centre. We will be staying in Kirriemuir on 24th as Maggie has a lesson with Patricia Henderson before going to Oban on 25th to play the big one, Maggie's first competition in Scotland for 2025 which is the Memorial McGregor Trophy at the Argyllshire Gathering on 27 August. This is a Piobaireachd event for U22 and is recognised by junior solo pipers as the most prestigious international solo piping event.
We have a bit of down time in between Braemar and The Northern this year. We plan on explore a bit of north Scotland and hopefully get out to the Isle of Lewis for a day.
